Our Story
We took our first family trip to Current River back in 2015. Our oldest son was just 2 years old at the time, and he pronounced Current River as Camp River. Fast forward to 2019, we had decided to build a getaway cabin here in Alton and loved everything so much so we decided to just move here.
Our family absolutely loves to camp so we thought we’d take a chance and start a campground here, but we needed a name of course. We could think of nothing better than Camp River. We are a family friendly oriented campground. We just love seeing families make memories together that will last a lifetime.
With a focus on providing an enjoyable experience for families, we strive to ensure that each guest has a wonderful time at our campground. From cozy campfires to exciting outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during their stay at Camp River. We believe in the power of shared experiences and the joy they bring to families who visit us. Our campground is designed to be a safe and beautiful place in the Ozarks where families can relax and have fun together.

We work hard at making sure our campground is family friendly, clean, and safe. We also have everything you might forget in our store because we want to make sure your family makes lasting memories.
We try to put ourselves in your shoes. The bathrooms are kept clean and the grounds are maintained. If you forget that “something” don’t worry, we have a convenience store on the site.
We like pets and have a playground for the kids. We also have a beautiful picnic area if you want to entertain a large group.
